The first issue of Detritos was launched in May 2008 with the use of a Trebuchet purposefully designed and constructed for the occasion.

How to build a trebuchet?

The trebuchet is a siege engine that seems to have been used for the first time by the Byzantine Empire. The apparatus consists of the traditional counterweight catapult's system in conjunction with a sling. During the medieval period it was used in the siege of cities, due to its ability to launch large objects such as dead animals (numerous references to the launch of horses), human waste and all sorts of rotting corpses in order to spread diseases. What characterizes the Trebuchet is the delicacy of its launch system, obviously more sophisticated than the direct device that characterizes a normal catapult.
