// About Detritos
Detritos is an independent journal concerned with speculative essay production as a way to think the contemporary. Created in 2007, it is located at the intersection of art, philosophy and critical theory, and adopts an essayistic practice as a space for the invention of new territories of thought. Its name is in reference to the power of debris and waste.
Detritos is traversed by a diverse range of work from authors and writers of many fields who gather around the research of a specific issue, such as the cases of the Science of Imaginary Solutions and Terror and Terrorism.
Along with the paper edition, Detritos also organizes events in close connection with the research being developed in each volume. These are intended to emphasize the indiscernibility between theory and practice, establishing themselves as self-constitutive events that experiment in loco conceptual elements explored in the paper edition.
Together with Esquilo Records, with which Detritos collaborates in terms of edition and event organisation, Detritos forms ESCUTA - Cultural Association, a wider platform for research, edition and organization of events.
